Family Pictures and Walking

Family Pictures and Walking

Rilyn, age 5

Tyler, age 2

Kyle, age 7

Alyssa, age 9

Kayla, age 11

We got our Family Pictures back and some of them turned out really really cute and other's not so great (especially the one's with me in them). But the precious, timeless ones we got of the kids make up for the bad ones.

The one we got of Tyler (with us in the background) is pretty much the best "individual" shot we got of him. Being 2.5, he is too busy for pictures! He was only interested in throwing sticks, rocks and pinecones into the lake. He had no interest in picture taking whatsoever!

But, I'm glad we did it. Family pictures are always so much work and stress for me. But capturing the best in these great kids always makes me smile, and get a little teary too! I can't help but feel like the most priveleged Mother when I look at the pictures of these precious faces.

In other news, walking is going good. It's exercise and girlfriend conversation both at the same time. So it is time well spent. It feels so great to come back home from walking and feeling so good and ready for the day! But I do have to say, we walk so fast that it would probably just be easier on my shins to run. But then it would be harder to visit as we run. I hope somehow we can still do this when the kids go back to school next week, but I don't know if it will work with our schedules and getting kids ready for school or not.

Your kids pictures are adorable. Im sure your family pictures are just as great, I love the color of your dress.

I recently started walking too, but on a treadmill. I sold my elliptical that I had used for 4 years and bought a treadmill. I love it. I love that I can powerwalk and that it makes me stay up to speed and I love that I can add an incline for more intensity.

Those pictures are totally awesome--they capture a unique side to all your kids and I like the one with Tyler and the family in the background because that says it all--the world revolves around him! Glad you get to enjoy walking for now. Can't believe the summer is almost over.

I haven't commented on your blog for a while and I couldn't resist this time. Your family is beautiful. Good job on the walking. I've been walking with a friend every morning as well. It just makes the day go better and it's the perfect way to get to know each other better and become great friends. Keep it up!!!

Gorgeous family photos Kari! The ones of your girls are darling and of Kyle. Family pics are ALWAYS stressful and I often wonder why I do it until I see the results.

I know what you mean about walking fast. Angie and I do it like that as well sometimes I am almost as tired as I am when I run. Crazy!

I love your pictures. My mom is always scheduling portrait sessions with the whole extended family. We moan and groan and make fun of her, but looking at the pictures from 10 and 15 years ago, you realize how priceless they are. I need to be better at group shots of my own little family.

Yours are beautiful!

Great pictures! I love the one on your sidebar of you and Tyler. Perfect! Hope your summer is going well. I thought of you when we flew through Denver last week. We had very short layovers, so it was nice. Take care!

Gorgeous! Your family is so lovely and I love the close, cropped shots that show your kids faces. I don't think you can ever get too many pictures of your kids!

Great pictures. It always stresses me out to take family pictures but seeing the good ones later makes it worth it.

Glad your walking is going good. I would be lost without my daily walks and girlfriend talks.
