Summer

Summer!

Kids: They are already way off schedule, sleeping in, staying up late, being lazy and don't want to do their chores. We have planned out some fun things, now I just need to implement them.

Potty Training: I started potty training Tyler yesterday, we were off to a great start and then I left to run some errands and those in charge didn't do so great in keeping him going to the potty. I should have explained better too. Tyler is really wanting to use the potty and he knows what he is doing and he is doing good, so it's me that needs to get on the stick and make this happen!

Landscaping: Laren finally got the front yard graded and seeded with grass seed. (Yes, we are one of the few homeowners who still seed instead of sod. But we've had good success with it in times past, so why not? It does take a little longer though.) So yesterday I met him at his work and we went to a nursery and picked out 2 pine trees for the front yard. One is a White Pine, and the other is an Austrian Pine. We spent $350.00 between the two of them, expensive!!

We also picked out a couple of different grasses and some strawberry plants. Today, I stopped off at the landscaping place and will hopefully hand pick some mossy rock for the front yard. We also need to order some medium size bark and get some Aspen tree's. This landscaping is expensive and time-consuming!

Projects: I'm hoping to get some of my projects done (stuff like finishing the wood craft from Enrichment night, refinishing Alyssa's dresser, copying some pictures onto cds, etc...) now that I don't have to keep running to and from the school all day. I just need to buckle down and do it!

Weather: We've had all sorts of rainy weather this spring. Really, it's been the rainiest spring that we've experienced here since we first moved here 5 years ago. I like the rain, but I'm ready for warmth and I'm tired of having a muddy dirty yard and having it get tracked in my house!

I am soooo with you on the weather. It is supposed to be summer break, not fall break. We had huge storms here last night. The kids are just dying to go to the pool. Hopefully this weekend will be nice.

I bet your landscaping will be nice. I am always amazed by how expensive that stuff is.

How are you feeling? Take care!

Bridget, I'm feeling quite a bit better. I back to the urologist on Monday. The x-ray showed 2 kidney stones in my right kidney. Hopefully they will stay put and not pass anytime soon. Thanks for asking. :)

NO NO NO NO to seed! Hopefully you have better luck with yours but our experience has been BAD. We sodded the front, seeded the back and this is after my hubby EXTENSIVELY researched the best seed combinations for Colorado. We have had to reseed it so many times it would have been cheaper just to sod and after two years, it doesn't look nearly as good as our front!

I hope to come up with some sort of schedule for summer too. It already feels like Friday and it's just Wednesday.

I hear ya on the mud/rain. Jared just tracked in his baseball shoes from practice and they were covered in mud. GRRRR.

Exciting about potty training! Any tips?

Well, I miss the rain and I'm sick of the heat - we're supposed to be 107 by monday! EEEK -

Okay - next - answer me this - is that dude in your video committing suicide after he strips down to nothing talking about a girl that he'll never get to be with? I think it should be a country song if that's what it is! LOL!

Heidi, I have always just thought he was going for a swim. If I could get the music without the video, that's what I'd do. But I don't think you can do that unless it's one of those where you click on the song to make it play?

Amen to the messed up schedule! Today was our last day of school, it was only 1 1/2 hours long, and my kids are now sitting on the computers and friends have come over to play, and it's only lunch time. This does not bode well for the rest of the day, or the rest of summer!

And please, send the rain away. We'll be coming your way in a couple of days, and we're finally getting beautiful weather here. I don't want to leave it to head into thunderstorms!

You guys are hard core. Embrace the rainy skies. Perfect excuse to chill out at home.

I'm loving the lazy schedule. I don't want to do my chores either.

Wow what a schedule for summer you have. I think summer is a great time to potty train. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sounds like summer is off with a bang! Summer has never been that much different from the rest of the year, yet. This will be the first time, I think. I wonder how I'll handle it. I hope as well as you.

Horizontal viewing angles are definitely fairly inferior by
standard standards, although they're more than made up with regard to by the perfect color production and also contrast provided. By using a quad-core processor chip or over to 16GB of RAM it's
a proper monster -- a suitable beast that one could toss in your messenger bag and take with you
