Blogging in the Basement

This morning it was so cold!! In fact here it is after 9:00 and still 10 degrees. I was too cold to get up and exercise before the kids got up (and the basement, where I exercise is cooler than the rest of the house). Apparently the kids were too chilly to get up and at it this morning too, they've been getting harder and harder to get moving in the mornings lately.

I have to say though along with the cold comes beauty! I had to take the picture below of our front yard because of all the snow/ice crystals everywhere. It is much prettier in real life and my cell phone camera doesn't do it justice at all.

Our front yard this morning. I love the ice/snow on the trees!

Because of my lazy morning, I just now finished doing the elliptical. Doing it after I take the kids to school sure cuts into my day and I much prefer to get it done earlier. Hopefully I will remember this next time I feel too cold or lazy to get out of bed!

Tyler likes to come and play in the basement, we have a playroom set up down here. And he likes it better when he's not down here alone. And of course, I was down here exercising and decided to just stay down here so I could blog and check emails and still be with him.

Speaking of Tyler, he is such a big helper. Whatever I'm doing whether it's shoveling snow, doing laundry, making dinner, etc... he wants to help. He says, "Need help, Mom?" It's SO cute! And he helps me whether I "need" it or not! ;)

Tyler and Kyle helping make dinner last night. (Blurry, I can't wait until I don't have to rely on my cell phone camera -- yet grateful I have my cell phone camera, it's better than nothing!)

Last night was Kyle's night to help make dinner but Tyler didn't want to miss out. So he stirred the orange juice and watched Kyle stir the mashed potatoes. I sure love these two boys of mine!!! :)

brrr, it sounds like it is so cold! Your boys both sound so sweet! How fun to have two little helpers in the kitchen. The picture of your yard is so pretty, and very peaceful. There is nothing more beatiful than the morning after s good snow. :)

Where is your camera? Did I miss something?

Your boys are so sweet. My kids aren't big into helping in the kitchen, but I wasn't either as a kid, and maybe that's why I still don't like to be in the kitchen?

Kris, it's not so much the camera but I have no way to put the pictures I take with my camera on the laptop. (There is a way with one of those thumb drives but I don't know how to work it just yet, LOL).

So for now, my cell phone will have to do. Hopefully Laren will just get the main computer connected back to the internet. He disconnected the router and some other stuff in the basement and that's when it quit working! He reconnected it all, but it's still not working.

Wow, I am pretty impressed with the quality your cell phone pictures! Not bad!

And too cute of your little guy to always want to help!

Yes, this is a fun age for our boys. Niki loves to help too. And that snow is so lovely. We are just having cold--but if it rains then there will be snow. Yeah. It really helps it to feel like the season.
