Computer Broken

Our "main" computer is "broken" in the sense that it won't connect to the internet. All of my pictures are on that. So unfortunately it puts my blogging in a lurch! Thankfully I have my laptop to still get my computer fix, though.

On Saturday night Laren and I went to his Company Christmas Party. It was at a place called the University Club. It's a place in Denver near where he used to work in downtown. Upon entering they gave us each 2 drink tickets. With the drink tickets you can get an alcoholic drink or nonalcoholic. Of course, we don't drink alcohol so Laren got Cranberry Juice and Sprite and I got water (which thankfully didn't cost me my drink ticket).

There were 2 live bands and we had dinner. The dinner was not a "Dinner," but instead it was a bunch of appetizers served buffet style. At first it was a little weird to have it that way, but after awhile I realized I liked it better than the usual way of having a huge plate of basically the same item. We got to sample a little of everything (like Beef Wellington, Chicken Teriyaki, Satay, about 6 different cheeses, fruit, desserts and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember the "gourmet" name for). It was great! Plus getting up to get the food was nice as an excuse to get up and around and socialize with those other than just who we were sitting with at the table.

Plus, we felt more at liberty to leave when we wanted. So we stayed about an hour and 45 minutes and left. It was great! I think it was the best "office party" I've been to. Engineers aren't known for great conversation! :) Love ya, Laren - that doesn't include you!! :)

On Sunday we went to my newest little nephew, Zackery's, baby blessing. It was very nice. His Dad (Doug) gave him a beautiful blessing, Laren stood in the circle too. And then after Sacrament we went over to Kallie's for lunch and cake. I always feel bad that this falls on the new Mother to do lunch! As if she is not exhausted enough!!

I offered to contribute but she wouldn't have it. And as soon as we all start to eat, the baby is hungry too so she had to sit and feed the baby and try and eat at the same time!! I remember those days, it's hard!!

It was a good time and so nice to get a break from my rambunctious Sunbeams for a week!!
